Obituary of Lawrence A. Rogers

Lawrence A. Rogers, 74, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at his home in Clinton with his family by his side. Larry was born in Brookfield, NY on May 23, 1939, the son of the late Kenneth L. and Mary Louise (Ingalls) Rogers. On June 13, 1959 at Grace Church, Waterville, he married the love of his life Jean Covey. The couple spent 54 wonderful years together living in Brookfield and Clinton. Larry worked at Special Metals in New Hartford for 44 years. For many years, he owned Rogers Laundromat, Clinton and Turnpike Laundromat, New Hartford. Larry loved upstate New York, the change of seasons and being outdoors. He especially enjoyed golfing and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Jean Rogers; daughter, Lisa Rogers; and son, Scott Rogers all of Clinton; sisters-in-law, Donna Cramer of New Hartford and Valerie Covey of Florida, brother-in-law, Neal and Antoinette Covey of New Hartford; nieces and nephews; Shane and Jennifer Covey, Reid and Beverly Covey, Erin Covey, Kari Covey, and their children. He also leaves a special uncle and aunt, William and Anne Ingalls, Ilion, as well as many Ingalls and Rogers cousins. He is predeceased by his sister, Dawn Rogers. Services for Larry will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 4pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College Street, Clinton. All are invited to call from 1-4pm on Sunday at the funeral home. A burial in Crown Hill Memorial Park will be held at a later date convenient to his family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry's memory can be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413 and ALS of Utica, 9169 River Road, Marcy, NY 13403. Special thanks to Larry's caregivers and Hospice for their kindness and love.
