Obituary of Charles Butler Rogers III
Charles Butler Rogers III, age 59, affectionately known as “CB”, passed away June 8, 2024, after a brief illness. CB was born the son of Charles B. Rogers II and Mary Suppe Donovan.
CB was educated at Clinton High School, class of ‘84. He went on to attend Paul Smith’s College for culinary arts. Throughout his education he found pleasure in art and photography.
CB was known for his honesty, dependability and solid work ethic. His co-workers enjoyed his friendly and upbeat personality. He will be remembered for his many years working in restaurants, including Thornberry's, The Clinton House, and Temptations. He also helped build commercial greenhouses in NY and PA. He especially enjoyed working with the maintenance department at Utica City Hall. The job he loved best -- walking his dog friend, Nicky Doodles.
CB was always generous and took great pleasure at Christmas time in delivering large packages of very unique gifts to his family. He enjoyed this time to catch up on the latest regarding the extended family.
Known to his friends as Chuck, they touched his life as he did theirs. His family feels a deep affection and respect for each and every one of them. Chuck carried them in his heart. The family knows their sorrow as it knows their own. Nick and Andrea, Danny, Dave, Joe, Frank, Keith and all the others, bless you.
CB will be deeply missed by his family: mother, Mary Donovan; father, Charles B Rogers and his wife, Teresa Morelle Rogers; his beloved sister Mandy Rogers with whom he shared a special bond; and many other special family members. He was predeceased by Mary's husband, Frederick "Pat" Donovan.
A gathering of CB’s close family and friends will be held at a later time. Please consider an act of kindness in CB’s memory. The family asks you to share your memories of CB at OwensPavlotRogers.com.
