Obituary of Willa S. Ameduri
Willa S. Ameduri, 90, of Westmoreland, NY, died on Friday, May 24, in the comfort of her own home surrounded by the love of her family.
Willa was born on September 9, 1933, in Westmoreland, NY to the late Charles and Janetta (Atkinson) Storey. She graduated from Westmoreland Schools Class of 1951 and later on attended MVCC graduating with her associate degree. On January 26, 1957, she married Samuel R. Ameduri at the Westmoreland United Methodist Church where she was a lifelong member. They shared a loving union until his passing in 2002.
Willa spent almost her entire career at the Prescription Center Pharmacy in Rome, as a bookkeeper retiring in 2012 only when they closed the business. She was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star and held the office of Grand Matron. Willa was a lifelong member and very involved in the Westmoreland United Methodist Church whether it was in her role as treasurer or one of the many talented bakers for the church dinners and baked good sales. She was known for making the best peanut butter balls ever. After retirement Willa enjoyed many adventures and travels with her family visiting them all over the country.
Willa is survived by her children and their spouses, Abbie More, Hope and Richard Mahoney, Scott and Barb Ameduri, Patrick Roser; grandchildren Eric and Leah Internicola, Taryn More and Josh Garufi, Lauren and Alex Volkov, Brett and Veronica Roser, Rachel and Sara Mahoney; eight great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-laws, Charles Jr. and Joyce Storey, John and Linda Storey and many nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel; daughter, Dawn Roser; grandson, Brian Richard Mahoney; and sisters, Mary Joyce Pilbeam and Donna Jones.
All are invited to Willa’s Funeral Service on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 11AM at the Westmoreland United Methodist Church. She will be laid to rest with her Husband at the Westmoreland Cemetery those services are private to the family.
