Obituary of Leonard G Holmes

Leonard G. Holmes Oriskany Leonard G. Holmes, 84, of Oriskany, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Eastern Star Home where he had been a resident for the past several months. Born in Campbell, NY on July 29, 1925, he was the son of Bert and Flora Holmes. Prior to his retirement, Leonard was a truck driver of many years for Nolan, Hayes & Adolfi. After retirement he enjoyed camping, long drives in the country and working in the yard. Surviving besides his loving companion of 25 years, Carolyn E. Koba is his sister, Hertha Hewitt of Rome and also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother and one sister. Memorial services will be held at 4pm Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton. Friends are invited to call Saturday from 2pm until the time of the service. Private burial will be held for the family. Contributions in his memory may be donated to the Eastern Star Home, 8290 State Route 69, Oriskany, NY 13424. We would all like to give a special thank you to the staff on the MacDonald unit at the Eastern Star Home for taking good care of Leonard during his last few months on Earth.
