Obituary of Mary L. Champney

Mary L. Champney,78, of Westmoreland passed away on Monday February 19, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born on October 12, 1945, in Watertown, South Dakota to the late Phyllis and R. Lloyd Kiner. The family moved to upstate, NY in 1948.

Mary graduated from V.V.S. high school in 1963. She married the love of her life Ronald Champney on August 8, 1980. Mary worked in the banking field for many years, eventually retiring from the Federal Reserve in 2008 after over 30 years of service.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Champney; son, Butch (Barbara) Champney; daughters, Rhonda (Albert) Twiss, Tammy (Daniel) Ayelsworth, Beverly Champney; grandchildren, Tanya, Amanda, Ronnie, Kylie, Nicole, Brandon, Desiree, Dylan, Dustin, Lacey, and Josh; 11 great grandchildren; sisters Ann (Roger) Simiele, Linda (James) McNamara; several nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends. She is predeceased by her brother, Jerry Kiner; and her daughter Kimberly Champney.

All are invited to a Celebration of Life for Mary on Saturday, February, 24 at 12PM at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College Street, Clinton NY. Calling hours will be held before the service from 10AM-12PM. Burial will take place in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Kirkland.
