Obituary of Joyce M. Mosher
Joyce M. Mosher, 85, passed away February 11, 2024.
Joyce was born February 18, 1938, in Edmeston, NY, a daughter of the late Martin H. and Naomi Nichols Callahan. She was united in marriage to Albert Frederick Mosher on August 30, 1975. They shared a devoted and loving union until his passing on October 8, 2016. Joyce was a hairdresser for nearly 50 years, operating Joyce’s Cut & Curl out of her home. She also maintained a shop at the Clinton Manor, helped Spring Farm CARES with hair and costumes for their community plays, and provided her services at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service. She also worked as an LPN at Murphy Nursing Home and the Presbyterian Home. Joyce was a natural caregiver, always putting others' needs before her own, as she cared for many members of her family. Early on Joyce worked at the Franklin Springs Post Office and with the Oneida County Board of Elections. She enjoyed her peaceful life at home but did enjoy going for rides and watching the Rodeo. Joyce was a truly unselfish, caring, and giving woman who was full of unconditional love, and she will be missed by all.
Joyce is survived by her brothers Michael, Charles and Stanley Callahan; sister and brother-in-law, Katie and Guy Wright; sister-in-law Cynthia Callahan and Susan Callahan; many nieces and nephews including special great-nephew Eric Mosher and special niece Susan Spina and her husband Mike; goddaughter Kelly Alesia; her very special friend and devoted care giver, Carmen Scalzo; and her dog Angel Baby.
She was predeceased by her husband Fred; her parents; brothers, William, Martin Howard and Patrick Callahan; sisters Lois Smith and Rose Reilly; in-laws, Georgia Callahan, Shelly Callahan, Nancy and Bill Jweid, Dwight and Alice Mosher, Vincent and Althea Mosher, John and Helen Mosher, Rebecca and George Page, James Mosher, and Donald Mosher.
All are invited to call Friday, February 16, 2024, from 5-7 PM at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Marvin St., Clinton. Joyce will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
