Obituary of Mary Helen Gerth

Mary Helen Gerth, 92, of Clinton, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Harding Nursing Home with her family at her side. She was born on August 19, 1920 in Brasher Falls, NY, a daughter of the late Floyd and Florence (DeCarr) Shattuck. Mary Helen had been married to Alex Stroich, with whom she had her two sons. Later she married Edward A. Gerth, Jr., who died in 2002. She worked for many years as an account manager for the Connecticut College bookstore. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Donna Stroich of Clinton and Frederick J. and Cheryl Stroich of Clyde, MI; five grandchildren, Shawn, Steven and Kristine, SueAnn and Eric and their families; great-grandchildren, Lilli and Elias; her sister-in-law, Beverly Shattuck of Virginia; many relatives and friends and a special friend, Rex Nichols and his family. She was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers. Private services will be held for the family. Arrangements by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., Clinton.
