Obituary of Shirley E. Demorest

Shirley E. Demorest, 86, passed away at home on November 28, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born January 1, 1937, a daughter of the late Charles and Emily (Letson) Burmaster.  Shirley was united in marriage to Earl W. Demorest on August 24, 1957.  She worked for Hostess and Sears in the accounting department for many years.  Shirley will be remembered for her quiet and loving ways.  Her actions spoke louder than words.  She was a quiet and creative soul who enjoyed ceramics, macrame and crocheting.  Her grandchildren have blankets lovingly made for them by grandma.

She is survived by her husband Earl; the memory of her son Earl Jr. who died in 2009; her children, Melody Knowles of Albany, Renee and Ken Cuda of Baldwinsville, Darlene and Martin Snedeker of Rome, and Steven and Christine Demorest of Summerset, PA; her six beloved grandchildren, Alyssa and Taran Fleming, Joanne and Matt Getman, Rebecca and Quinn Kelly, Kevin Shoemaker, Ashley Demorest, and Marisa Knowles; her four great-grandchildren, Harrison and Elana Fleming and Morgan and Taylor Kelly; and her dog Taffy.  She was predeceased by her son Earl Jr., her parents, and her brother Charles Burmaster.

All are invited to call Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 10am-11am at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton.  Funeral services will follow at 11am.  She will be buried at Evergreen Cemetery.
