Obituary of Tony Forbes McMills

Tony Forbes McMills, 61, of Utica, passed away on November 25, 2023, at MVHS Wynn Hospital after a long illness.

He was born in Seaford, Long Island, on November 15, 1962, a son of the late Agnes J. and Charles Robert McMills. Tony grew up in Seaford, New York and  Naples, Florida, returning to Manhattan where he worked at the Manhattan Theatre Club and Barnes & Noble Booksellers for many years. He joined his partner Michel in Constableville, N.Y. and they then relocated to Utica where he assisted Michel in his business.

Tony was a cultured individual who enjoyed theatre, movies and music, especially Barbra Streisand. He had a great love for animals and took care of the local feral cats. 

He is survived by his partner Michel See; his sister Lauren Galimore of Enterprise, Alabama, his niece Kelly Thompson and husband Nate and nephews Michael Burnette and Jason Burnette, sister in law Suzanne McMills, nieces Melissa McMills and Courtney Petratos and six great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Charles Robert McMills II and Michael McMills.
