Obituary of Ruby A. Greenwood

Ruby A. Greenwood, 98, of Clark Mills, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013 at ST. Luke's Home. She was born in Lake Como, PA, on March 30, 1915, a daughter of John and Jenny (Burdick) Jensen, where she graduated from Preston High School. On November 10, 1945, she was married to Lester L. "Pete" Greenwood. The couple resided in Whitestown for 33 years prior to his passing in 1983. Ruby was an operator for Commonwealth Telephone Co in Clark Summit, PA for 17 years and also worked for Waite-Bond Cigar Manufacturing in Scranton, PA and for Clark Summit Arrow Shirt Co. After moving to Whitestown in 1958, she worked as the mailroom supervisor for Mohawk Airlines. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard J. and Nancy Smith of Lowell; three grandchildren, Richard, Terry and Vicki; a great-grandson, Daryl; great-great-granddaughter, Brooklyn; and her special friend B.J. Harris. She was predeceased by her husband, her parents and her two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 5pm Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton. Private burial for the family will be in Westmoreland Cemetery.
