Geraldine "Gerri" M. Pryputniewicz, 87, of Franklin Springs, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013.
She was born on October 23, 1925 in Utica, a daughter of the late Clarence and Anna (VanDyke) Helfert. On July 5, 1947, she was married to Joseph M. Pryputniewicz, a union of love and devotion until his passing in 1997. The couple worked together on the potato farm on Doolittle Road for 49 years. Gerri loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren and always kept in touch with family and friends with cards, letters and phone calls. She enjoyed the simple things in life and especially enjoyed living next to the Franklin Springs Post Office, where she would gather and talk with all the friends she made over the years. Gerri was always thinking of others over herself and enjoyed sharing meals and good conversation. Her eyes were always shining and she could be found singing or whistling during the day. She joined the Paris Hill Congregaton of Jehovah's Witness in 1980.
She is survived by her five sons and their spouses, Joseph and Kathleen of Hubbardsville, Wayne and Marcella of Mt. Airy, NC, Bruce and Judy of Sauquoit, Matthew and Tracy of Clinton and Timothy of Franklin Springs; her six beloved grandchildren, Peggy Zammiello, Thomas Pryputniewicz, Pamela Crewell, Ariana Lane, Alissa Pryputniewicz and Spencer Pryputniewicz; her three great-grandchildren, Portia and Benjamin Zammiello and Gavin Pryputniewicz; and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Linda Hurd and her many cherished friends. She was predeceased by her husband and her sister, Shirley Hoffman.
All are invited to memorial calling hours from 1-3pm Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Paris Hill Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, State Route 12, Waterville, NY. A memorial service will follow calling hours at 3pm at Kingdom Hall on Saturday. Burial will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park. Arrangements by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, Clinton.
Please consider donations in Gerri's memory to Paris Hill Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, State Route 12, Waterville, NY 13480.
