Obituary of Bruce C. Coe

Bruce C. Coe, 88, passed away unexpectedly on October 13, 2023, in the arms of his loving wife and in the company of his grand-daughter as well as three members of his O.E.S. Family.

He was born on December 22, 1934, the son of the late George P. and Thelma (Hughes) Coe. Bruce grew up on the family farm, working along-side his father where he learned the rewards of a good day’s work.  He attended Hobart Welding School in 1959 and retired from Munson Machinery after 40 years as a welder and sheet metal fabricator.

He was married to Sondra Cook on August 26, 1961, at Historic St. Paul’s Church in Paris Hill. Bruce was a quiet man with a calm and steady demeanor.  He was a 55-year member of Sanger Lodge F and AM Waterville and a current officer. He was a 40-year member of Bell Tower Chapter O.E.S. Waterville, a current officer and past patron. He was also a member at St. James Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sondra; his three sons, Dale and Lorene Coe of Northumberland, NH, David Coe of Edwards, CO and Christopher Coe of Waterville, NY; five grandchildren, Nicholas and Olivia Coe of VA, Kaitlyn and Ian Harte of NH, Courtney Coe of Whitehead, NY, Amber Coe of Waterville, and Kelsey Coe of Waterville; a great-granddaughter, Maeve Phoenix Harte; and four cousins, Brian and Julie Rand of Clinton, Alan Rand of Trumansburg, Elaine and Charlie Gaiser of Cassville, and Roderick and Delores Smith of Cassville.  He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Gail Dye, and a grandson, Ryan Coe.

All are invited to call Friday, October 20, 2023, 2-4pm or 6-8pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton.  Masonic and O.E.S. services will be rendered at evening calling hours. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 10:30AM at the funeral home with burial to follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Paris Hill.
