Obituary of Emil C. Bond
Emil C. “Bondy” Bond, 96, of Deerfield, passed away on October 12, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital.
He was born on March 23, 1927, son of the late Earl and Ruth (Mitchell) Bond. Emil graduated Clinton Central Schools in 1945 and enlisted into Army from 1945-1946 to serve his country. Upon his return from the Army he went to Morrisville College and eventually received his teaching certificate from Oswego State University. He became an Auto Mechanics Teacher for Herkimer County BOCES for over 25 years.
On February 12, 1949, at St. Francis deSales Church, he was united in marriage to Christine Lawless. The couple shared 71 years of love and friendship until Christine’s passing in 2020. Emil loved spending time with his family. Hew was also a member of many organizations including, the Utica Maennerchor, United Polka League, the Rome Polish Home, American Legion Post #229 in Utica, NYS Retired Teachers Association, and he and Christine were members at Historic Old St. John’s Church.
He is survived by his five children, Kathleen Madrak of Schuyler, Patricia Colite of Utica, Robert S. Bond of New York Mills, Janice and Kevin Perrault of Blossvale, and Kristen and Anthony Fiorini of Marcy; eleven beloved grandchildren, Rebecca, Joseph and James Madrak, Todd Moore, Kelly Grimes, Rachel Colite, Hayley Grimes, Lee and Paul Perrault, Jacquelyn and Joseph Fiorini; Nine great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Simon, Riley, Madison, Charlotte, Julia, Samuel, Willa and Francesca; a brother and sister-in-law Robert and Carol Lawless of Kayuta Lake and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 71 years Christine Bond; a daughter Maryanne Grimes; and his parents.
All are invited to call Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 4-6pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton. Funeral services will be Friday, October 20, 2023, at 10:30am at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Clinton. Emil will be laid to rest following his services, in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
