Obituary of Edward P. Garner

Edward P. Garner, 99, passed peacefully at home on September 13, 2023.

He was born on April 23, 1924, in Howes Cave, NY, the son of Lewis and Alverda (Spaulding) Garner.  Ed served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II from 1942 to 1945.  Ed was a graduate of Union College and enjoyed a long career at NY Telephone as an engineer.  He was married to Marian Hinman for 65 years until her passing on July 2, 2012.  The couple loved to golf and were founding members of the Skenandoa Golf Club.  After their retirement, Ed and Marian wintered in Delray Beach, FL and spent summers in Upstate New York with their family. 

He is survived by a son, two daughters and their spouses, Allan E. Garner of Raleigh, NC, Marlene and Ross Williamson of Ocean City, NJ, and Elaine and George Joseph of Westmoreland; eight beloved grandchildren; and twelve cherished great-grandchildren.

There will be no public services.
