Obituary of Cari Anne Kessler

Cari Anne Kessler, 53, of Oriskany, passed away unexpectedly on July 5, 2023.

She was born February 23, 1970, daughter of David H. Cooney and Jill A. Holmes (Graham).  Cari was dedicated to caring for people with special needs and truly loved working for CNY DDSO.  She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.  She was always cooking delicious meals for Papa Pete, family and friends, always making extra.  Cari enjoyed going to many country and rock concerts. She was a spitfire who was known for telling it like it is.  She was current President for CNY Firemen’s Association Auxiliary, member of the Westmoreland Fire Department Auxiliary, past President of the Oriskany Fire Department Auxiliary, and a member of LAFASNY.

She will be missed by her daughter, Sarah Jane Kessler and Tyler Smith; step-father Peter K. Holmes; four brothers, David Cooney and Alvena Tierney, Kenneth Holmes and Kelly Mizgala, James Cooney and Brenda Head, and Scott and Dawn Cooney; a sister Kelly Moyer and David Johnson; nieces and nephews, Patrick, Robert, Casie “Buck”, David Jr., Kenny, Andrew and Lainy; and her dog Petey.  Cari was predeceased by her mother and father.

All are invited to call Monday, July 10, 2023 from 5-8pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton. A graveside service will be held at 11am Tuesday at Westmoreland Cemetery.
