Obituary of Mark Gregory Matcham

Mark Gregory "Greg" Matcham, 54, of Davis Ave., passed away at home on Sunday, June 9, 2013. Greg was born in Utica on July 22, 1958, son of the late Robert and Mary Doris Mahoney Matcham. He graduated from Westmoreland Central School and attended Morrisville College. A woodworker by trade, Greg ran a construction business for many years and was a manager at U-Haul and worked at Herb Philipson's. He had a great love for the wilderness and enjoyed hiking and fishing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. He is survived by his two daughters and their companions, Jennifer Matcham and Chrissy Burrows of Clinton and Jessica Matcham and Jacob McCanney of Clark Mills; his three beloved grandchildren, Teagan, Logan and Nicholas; the mother of his children, Karen Loveland Strong of Vernon; his sister, Mary Gail Batson of New York Mills; brother Robert Matcham of California; many cousins, nieces and nephews; his close friend Bob Elmer; his wonderful neighbor and friend, Pat and his four-legged best friend, Kody. All are invited to call from 4-6pm on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton and stay for funeral services at 6pm at the funeral home.
