Obituary of Raymond E. Hunt

Raymond E. Hunt, 91, of Vernon, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the home of his daughter surrounded by his loving family.
Raymond was born on September 19, 1921 at his family home in Westmoreland, a son of the late William and Genie Hunt. He graduated from Westmoreland High School. On April 15, 1944 he married Marjorie L. Lampman, a blessed union of 64 years before her death on November 23, 2008. Raymond was a lifelong dairy farmer. He was a well respected and active member of the Lairdsville United Methodist Church. Raymond was an avid music lover. He loved singing and harmonizing with his daughters and playing the guitar and banjo with the Norton Street Strummers. Raymond had the ability to fix just about anything, but above all he was known for putting family first.
He is survived by his son and three daughters and their spouses, Dawn and Anson Proseus of Ralston, PA, Susan and Truett Sweeting of Wellsville, NY, Stephen and Rebecca Hunt of Vernon and Norma and Mark Warner of Westmoreland; 13 grandchildren, Amy, Andy, David, Billy, Kirk, Kate, Jason, Sandy, Ben, Sam, Stephanie, Mary, Becky Anne, Amy, Emily and Missy; 33 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, William Lampman of Ohio; sisters-in-law, Anita and Richard Miller of New Hartford and Anne Hunt of Vernon Center; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his son, Richard G. Hunt, three brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10am Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Lairdsville United Methodist Church, Route 5, Lairdsville. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call Friday, May 31, 2013 from 6-9pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College Street, Clinton.
