Obituary of LeRoy O. Decker

LeRoy O. Decker, 84, of Vernon Center, passed away May 12, 2023.

He was born in Ithaca on October 8, 1938, a son of the late John LeRoy and Margaret (Beam) Decker.  Roy graduated from Ithaca High School and Cornell University.  He had a successful career in sales, retiring from Moore Business Forms. In 1990 he married MaryAnn Wilcox and enjoyed 20 years of marriage until she passed in 2010. He was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather.  In his years of life Roy was a baseball coach, leader with the Boy Scouts of America, an avid hunter, fisherman and relentless outdoorsmen.

He is survived by his seven children and their spouses, Kevin and Barbara Decker, L. Christopher Decker, Timothy and Anne Decker, Michael Decker, Michele Buddle, Jeffrey Decker, and Jennifer and Les Dunlap; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Pricilla Vaine and Teena Abel.  Also, stepchildren, Shelley and Jim Kinney, Lawrence and Melinda Hubal, Rebecca and Jim McConnell, Robert Hubal and Trisha Perrault, and Katrina and Tim Tickle and fourteen step-grandchildren.

Private services will be held for the family.  Arrangements by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Clinton.  Please consider donations in Roy’s memory to the Nature Conservancy.
