Obituary of Robert Joseph Mazza

Robert (Joe) Mazza, 86, passed away on May 22, 2013 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in September 1926, Joe was the only child of Joseph and Bernice Mazza. He was educated in Utica schools and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1943. Joe proudly served his country in both World War II and the Korean War. On April 4, 1987 Joe married the love of his life, Phyllis Fedor. Joe and Phyllis enjoyed their life in the "north country", relocating from Woodgate to Clarks Mills in 2004. Joe was a member of the New Hartford American Legion, the Teamsters Union, and a life-long member of the VFW in Boonville, NY. Joe is survived by his loving wife Phyllis, children James and Penny Mazza of Bellview, FL; David and Marie Mazza of Virginia Beach, VA., Joanne and Robert Cole of Rome, NY; Michael Mazza, Charleston, SC; Lawrence and Penny Mazza, Staunton, VA.; Douglas Mazza, Brookfield, NY; Natalie and Stephen Brooks, Utica, NY; Richard and Cyndi Mazza, Dingman's Ferry, PA; Greg and Mary Fedor, New Hartford, NY; and Carla and Robert Shepherd, Westmoreland, NY. He also leaves a true legacy in his 23 grandchildren, James, Terri, Stacey, Cindy, Joseph, Christy, David, Brian, Michael Scott, Genevieve, Melinda, Stephen, Bethany, Brittany, Tony, Dominick, Louis, Danielle, Nicholas, Stephen, Kristin, Thomas, Michelle and 16 great grandchildren. He also leaves his best friend.Tippy. Joe was predeceased by his step son, Bradley Fedor. Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff of St. Elizabeth Medical Center along with the Cleveland Clinic.
