Obituary of Kenneth R Dreyhaupt

Kenneth R. Dreyhaupt, Sr., 86, of New Hartford, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the Presbyterian Home for CNY. He was born July 23, 1926 in Richmond Hill, NY, a son of the late Edward and Johanna (Hochgraf) Dreyhaupt. Ken grew up in Queens and served in the US Army during WWII. On May 22, 1948, he was married to Lucy Cain, a blessed union of 60 years before her death on January 17, 2009. Ken retired after many years as a truck driver for Canada Dry. He was a member of St. Thomas Church in New Hartford, and the VFW in Queens. He had served as a Cub Scout Master for many years and enjoyed woodworking, carpentry and was an avid train collector. He is survived by his three children, Rita and Michael Prior of Fresh Meadows, NY, Kenneth and Eleanor Dreyhaupt of Flushing, NY, and Ellen Dreyhaupt of Clinton, NY. He was the grandfather of Bryan, Christopher, Andrew, Zachary, Laura, Geoffrey and John and great-grandfather to Dylan and Parker. He was predeceased by his wife, Lucy; his brothers, Edward Jr and Frederick; and his sisters, Ethel and Mildred. All are invited to call from 2-5pm Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton, NY. A date for the Memorial Mass and Burial will be announced. The family thanks the staff at the Presbyterian Home, Dr. Thomas Spath and Dr. Timothy LaFont and his staff.
