Obituary of Ralph H. Stenstrom

     Ralph H. Stenstrom, 90, passed away at home on March 23, 2023. 

     He was born November 25, 1932, in Ironwood, Michigan, a son of the late Mellor and Ina (Somppi) Stenstrom.  Ralph received his PhD in Library Science from the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana.  He was the Library Director at Hamilton College for many years and found particular enjoyment in cultivating the library’s special collections.  Ralph took great pleasure in gardening and spending time outdoors. 

     He is survived by his wife Kathryn Stenstrom of Clinton; son Christopher Stenstrom and his partner Uri Samis of Nashville, TN; daughter and son-in-law Lynn and Randy Williams of Pearland, TX; two granddaughters, Sarah Williams and husband Nick Balleza, and Mary and Sean Halton; and two great-granddaughters, Lily and Poppy Halton.  He was predeceased by his parents, and his brothers and sisters. He was formerly married to Patricia Fitzgerald Stenstrom.
