Barbara J. Ireland, 81, of Westmoreland passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013.
Barbara was born on March 5, 1932 in Harvey, IL a daughter of the late James and Lilly Mae (Brooks) Clark. On August 1, 1953 she married the love of her life Richard D. Ireland. They settled in Westmoreland where she found her true calling of being a loving mother, wife, daughter, aunt, and caretaker of family and friends. Barbara had a passion for animals; she loved watching the birds and squirrels on her deck and spending time with her dogs and cat
Barbara is predeceased by her sister, Muriel Strahorn.
She is survived by her beloved husband Richard whom she loved for 67 of her 81 years; one brother, James & Bev Clark; daughter, Karen & Tom Matt of Westmoreland; son, Richard & Joanne Ireland of Westmoreland; 7 grandchildren, Sean & Jocelyn, Ryan & Sarah, Kate & Nick, Keith & Lisa, Scott & Lauren, Cody & Cassidy, Brenda & Steven; 5 great grandchildren, Shennen, Kaden, Keira, Logan, Brayden; special niece and nephew, Sharon & Dave; and several other nieces, nephews.
Family and Friends are invited to celebrate Barbara's life on Saturday, April 13, at Richard & Barbara's home in Westmoreland from 12-3 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Barbara's memory to Spring Farm Cares, 3364 State Rt. 12, Clinton, NY 13323 and Humane Society of Rome, PO Box 4572, Rome, NY 13440.
