Obituary of Lynn S. Goodridge
Lynn Constance Smith Goodridge, 77, of Clinton, passed away unexpectedly at her home on December 6, 2022.
She was born in Utica on May 13, 1945, daughter of the late Thomas Allen and Helen (Parshall) Smith. In 1960, Lynn met Edward Goodridge, and the two were united in marriage in 1967, at the First Presbyterian Church in Utica. The couple shared 59 years together until Edward’s passing in 2019.
Lynn was a familiar face in the Clinton community as she worked 32 years for Clinton Central School District as the bus driver that every child wished to have. Her caring and compassionate heart allowed her to find a connection with many students that still rave and speak of her in the highest regard, even though she had retired over 15 years ago.
Lynn was also active in the community by starting her own pet sitting business, which she took the utmost pride in for nearly 20 years. She created a special bond with owners and pets alike, with whom she formed and maintained many beautiful friendships over those years.
Although Lynn was successful at every job she had, the one that brought her the most joy was being a loving mother and grandmother. Her abounding care and compassion showed in every gesture and will be missed beyond measure.
She is survived by two beloved daughters and their partners; Jennifer Goodridge and David Hughes of New Hartford, NY, and Lee Ann Goodridge and Kenneth Anthonson of Cortland, NY; two cherished grandchildren, Carly Constance Hughes and Kase Thomas Anthonson; her twin sister, Linda Bartle and her husband Brian; as well as many cherished friends. Lynn will be greeted at the gates by her adored Boston Terrier, Robert.
Private services will be held for the family with arrangements by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Clinton.
