Obituary of Suzanne D. Slater

    Suzanne D. Slater, 75, of Utica, NY and formerly of Cheektowaga, NY, passed away Wednesday, October 5^th, 2022, in her sleep after a courageous battle with ALS.

    She was a beautiful person who did so much for so many. She spread joy and happiness wherever she went and was a rock to her family and friends. Suzanne was a math teacher at Perry Jr. High in New Hartford, NY, molding young minds for 34 years.

    Suzanne was predeceased by her parents Charles and Geraldine Daucher. She is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 43 years, John L. Slater of Utica, NY; her loving and compassionate daughter, Jennifer L. Lattimer-Slater of New Hartford, NY; her incredibly special grandson Justin Tyler “JT” Felski of New Hartford, NY; sisters Judy (Tom) Thompson of Pittsburgh, PA, Linda Blide of Oakland, CA; numerous nieces and nephews; her best friend of 34 years Nancy M. Murray; and her amazing group of friends “the BG’s”.

    A very special thanks to her caregiver and friend Lily Stoltzfus and the Hospice nurses Paula, Karen, Crystal and Cari.

    There will be no calling hours or services. Donations in Suzanne’s name may be made to the ALS Society or Hospice.
