Obituary of Marion W Louvet

Marion W. Louvet, 96, a longtime resident of West Winfield, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013.
She was born on February 21, 1917, in West Winfield, the daughter of Harold W. and Ruby Ames Wilcox. Marion graduated from West Winfield Central School and Cornell University College of Agriculture. She received her Master of Arts degree in special education from Oneonta. On July 5, 1941, she was united in marriage to Russel E. Louvet. Mr. Louvet died September 21, 1944. After his death, Marion raised their children with the love and support of her family. Marion taught special education at Mt. Markham School. She had been a member of Winfield Chapter 418 O.E.S., Federated Church in West Winfield and the New Hartford United Methodist Church. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Utica and taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed volunteering her time and giving back to her community. She worked with Meals on Wheels and volunteered at the Scott House in west Winfield.
She is survived by her two children, Marta Louvet of New Hartford and Michael and Dianne Louvet of Craigsville, VA; two grandsons, Matthew and Megan Louvet of Elizabethtown, KY and Christopher and Jenifer Louvet of Miami Beach, FL; four great-grandsons, Matthew Jr., Nicholas, Zachary and Justin and a great-granddaughter Amelia Eve.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Lutheran Care Willowway unit for the excellent care provided to Marion over the last year.
All are invited to a Memorial Service at 11am Friday, April, 19, 2013, at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. Private burial will be held for the family at West Winfield Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours.
