Obituary of John E. Jones

Mr. John E. Jones, 79, of Stop Seven Rd, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013with his loving family by his side after a brief illness. He was born in Utica on July 6, 1933, the son of the late Edward and Helen (Duerheimer) Jones and was educated in Utica Free Academy schools, graduating in 1951. He served in the US Army. John was employed for many years by Univac and Hamilton Digital Controls and retired from Westmoreland Central School. John was united in marriage to the late Lucille (Senior) Jones on January 20, 1967 in the Church of the Annunciation, Clark Mills and shared 42 years with his best friend. John enjoyed bowling for many years. He continued his education at MVCC and SUNY Utica where he received his bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering. Surviving John are two daughters and three sons, Joan Jones of Tribes Hill, NY, William and Carrie Jones of Deerfield, Dave and Jean Schram of Westmoreland, Robert Jones and Rebecca Kimball of Westmoreland and Joseph Jones and Tanya Klossner of Westmoreland and his cherished grandchildren, Brandon, Jacob, Abby, Hannah, Mitchell, Lukas, Trevor, Rachael and Riley; and his sister-in-law, Vivian Shanley of Westmoreland and brother-in-law, Donald Perrault of Clark Mills. Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday, April 1, 2013 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton, with burial to follow at Westmoreland Cemetery. All are invited to call Monday from 10-11am prior to the service.
