Obituary of Roger Belois
Please share a memory of Roger to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Clinton - Roger Belois, 71, passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 14, 1950, a son of the late John A. and Irene (Wright) Belois, and graduated from Clinton Central School. Roger was united in marriage to Marcia E. Jeary on August 28, 1976. Roger was never one to sit idle. In addition to operating Belois Roofing Service for many years, he also produced maple syrup for over 30 years in the sugar shack in his backyard. Adding to his responsibilities, Roger was the sexton at Sunset Hill Cemetery for decades. He meticulously cared for the cemetery and was integral in creating and maintaining The Path at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
He instilled in his children the importance of a good work ethic and an appreciation for history. The family vacations always included a stop at a historic site. Although Roger was not a fan of flying, he traveled to Portugal multiple times and loved sharing the experiences with his family. Roger was very proud of his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed going to their various activities in addition to taking them fishing. He served on the Clinton Youth Hockey Board and helped on the bench for games. He loved to cook his famous pot roast and was known to be a bit of a “collector”. Roger pretended to enjoy golf just for the social aspect of it. He was known as an “emBeloiser” for his grand stories shared with family and friends.
Roger will be missed by his wife, Marcia; his daughter and son-in-law, Erica Belois-Pacer and her husband Rob Pacer of Fairport; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Nathan Belois and Ana Pereira of Porto, Portugal, and Drew and Elizabeth Belois of Cary, NC; his beloved grandchildren, Natalie, Evan and Jacob Pacer, and Ellareese and Roger “2” Belois; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Becky Belois of Clinton; sister Diane Belois of Tupper Lake; nieces and nephews, Peter Belois, Debi Philps, Daniel Barrett, Kristin Niesen, and Brian Jeary; his in-laws, Richard and Donna Jeary of Rochester, and Judy Barrett and Robert Fisher of Rochester; cousin Donna Wolf, the entire Wolf Pack, and his longtime right-hand man, Steve Malinowski. The family is eternally grateful for all the love and support from close friends and family.
A time to gather together will be on Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 9:30am-10:30am at Hamilton College Chapel. A Celebration of Roger’s Life will follow at 10:45am at the Chapel.
