Ron was the greatest neighbor I could have ever hoped to have had. I had the pleasure of living across the street from Ron and his family for 36 years. I went through some pretty tough times and had to ask for help during some of those times… Ron never hesitated to help and do so compassionately. He was an expert mechanic and often helped with my vehicles. It was obvious how much he loved his children and grandchildren, and i had the great pleasure of watching his children grow from toddlers to responsible adults. I consider it a privilege to have had the Smith family as my neighbors, and find it very sad to no longer be able to look across the way and see Ron. My sincerest sympathy to his family.

Everyone knows Ron was my mentor and true inspiration on the dragstrip! I owe every success I’ve ever had on to the Smith family. Words cannot explain anything right now. My thoughts & prayers are with all of Smith family. I cherish every moment I had with him!

Daddy,
Thank you for teaching us that hard work makes victories so much sweeter. You will always be our hero and the man that made us who we are today. This life won't be the same without you and there are no words to describe what our hearts are feeling. We love you.
