Obituary of Gail T. Sturdevant

Gail Timian Sturdevant, 80, of Deansboro, passed away March 10, 2022. She was born in Utica on September 17, 1941, a daughter of the late Robert and Frances (Dowd) Timian. Gail graduated from Waterville Central School. She was united in marriage to Morris Sturdevant in 1960. They shared many happy years until his passing in 2018. She retired from Waterville Central School after 26 years as a bus driver. Gail was a devoted wife and mother, who doted on her family and kept everyone in line. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, building stone walls, and taking care of her chickens. She will be dearly missed by her three children, Carrie and Rich Getchell, Robert Sturdevant, and Caralinda Sturdevant, all of Deansboro; her granddaughter Dana VanHoeven; sister Jean O’Shea of TN; two brothers, PJ Timian of TN, and Ronald “Redball” Timian of Waterville; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Morris; infant son Walter Myron; and brother Kenneth Timian. There will be no public services.
