Obituary of James B. Berie

Clark Mills - James B. Berie, 85, passed away on January 23, 2022. He was born September 14, 1936, in Turin, a son of the late Leo and Viola (Barrow) Berie. Jim was united in marriage to Joanne “Tike” Clarey on April 12, 1958. They couple shared a union of love and devotion for nearly 64 years. Jim retired from Fanelli Express after 30 years. He was a Trustee of the Clark Mills Historical Society, Commissioner for the Clark Mills Fire Department, and had coached Little League for many years. Jim never sat idle and could fix just about anything. He was hard-working, dependable and willing to help those in need. He will be missed. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Joanne; his daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Bud Owens of Clayville; son Scott Berie of Denver, NC and his companion Karen Poor; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Lorretta Berie, Mary Lou Berie, Mary Lu Spect Berie, Suzanne Hanrahan, and Roberta and Al Avery; Also many nieces and nephews. The family wants to express their appreciation to nephew, Bob Clarey and friend, Al Roberts for always being there to help when needed. He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, George Peter Berie and Robert Berie. All are invited to call Friday, January 28, 2022 from 10am - Noon at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will follow at Noon. He will be buried at Kirkland Cemetery. Please wear a mask and respect current COVID-19 guidelines.
