Shirlee A. Thieme, 85, of Vernon, NY passed on peacefully with the love of her family on February 1, 2013 at the Presbyterian Home for CNY.
Shirlee was born February 26, 1927 in Utica, NY, the daughter of the late Martha VanSlyke. She was married to Carl W. Thieme in 1946. Shirlee worked at Griffiss Air Force Base from 1956-1970 and retired from MVCC Registrar's Office in 1995. She was a devoted fan of country music and had a love for all animals. She was a past member of the Moose Club.
She is survived by her lifetime companion, Robert Schram of Vernon; her son Kerry C. Thieme of Clinton; two grandchildren, Kara Thieme of Clinton and Derek & Liz Thieme of Rowley, MA; her great-grandson Rylen Thieme; sister and brother-in-law Annette & Maynard Truax of Frankfort; and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sister Dorothy Thieme. Ultimately, her life was about being with family which also included the Thieme boys, their families and Ra's family.
As per her wishes there will be no services.
