Obituary of Erika I Getz

Erika I. Getz, 80, of New Hartford, left to be with her son, on October 14, 2021. She was born in Breslau, Germany on February 23, 1941, to Erich and Gerda (Saft) Scheinert. She was united in marriage to Stanley James Getz in Berlin, West Germany, on March 17, 1962. Her greatest joy in life was taking care of her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and a dear friend to many. Erika will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Erika is survived by her loving and devoted husband Stanley; one daughter Christina (Getz) Burk of Maryville, IL; three sons and their spouses, Eric of Alexandria, VA, Steven and Petra of Stuttgart, Germany, Jim and Melissa of Frankfort, NY. Erika is also survived by four grandchildren, Marissa Shea Burk, Taylor Elise Burk, Connor Burk, and Madison Getz; a brother Fritz Scheinert of Germany; sister-in-laws Crystal Scheinert (Gunther), Lou Lou Schmidt (Fritz); and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Kendally Carlson of North Carolina. Erika was predeceased by her son Greg in 2010 and her brother Gunther in 1992. Private services will be held for the family. Arrangements by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Clinton.
