Obituary of Jeffrey J. Hanrahan

Jeffrey J. Hanrahan, 52, of Westmoreland, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, January 13, 2013. He was born in Utica, NY on October 5, 1960, a son of James D. and Suzanne Clarey Hanrahan, and graduated from Westmoreland Central School. Jeff owned and operated Hanrahan Excavating and Trucking in Verona, NY for over 25 years and was a hard-working man who took great pride in teaching his children the skills needed to run a successful business, especially Chris over the past 7 years. He was a member of Land Improvement Contractors' Association. He is survived by his loving wife June; his daughter and her spouse Sara Jean and Kerry Hanrahan of Clark Mills, two sons, Joshua Bernard James Hanrahan of Oneida and Christopher Thomas Hanrahan of Westmoreland; his mother, Suzanne "Suz" C. Hanrahan of Hopkinsville, KY; two brothers and their spouses, Patrick and Rachael Hanrahan of Elkton, KY and Kyle and Paula Hanrahan of Hopkinsville, KY; and many special friends, including his lifelong friend, Billy Dawes. Calling hours will be held Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 4-7pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St, Clinton, NY. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Westmoreland Cemetery. The family thanks Westmoreland Fire Department and those who assisted. In lieu of flowers, please consider Westmoreland Fire Department or a fund for the future education of his son, Christopher.
