Howard “Bob” R. Merriman, 92, of Utica, passed away peacefully with his family by his side and on face call on Monday, August 16, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Bob was born on August 28, 1928, in White Plains, New York to the late Howard and Lulu (Roberts) Merriman. He was a member of the Westmoreland Masonic Lodge for many years. Bob enjoyed fishing and looked forward to times spent with his family and friends. He was no longer able to do the things he loved, driving to visit friends and family, taking people to AA meetings, or just go outside to walk the neighborhood. Bob leaves behind his loving wife, Concordia; his children, Lorraine, Howard Jr. and wife Herminia, Timothy, Vincent and wife Julie, Courtney, and Christian; grandchildren, Kevin, Jessica, Kelly, Brandon, Sandy, Alex, David, and Sidney: sister-in-law, Beverly Merriman. He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers Jerry, Ward, and Eugene; his nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren will miss their Uncle Bob. He looked forward to going with his wife to the Philippines to visit their large extended family that loved him and will greatly miss him. Funeral services will be held at 11am Friday, August 20, 2021 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton. Bob will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery, Westmoreland. The family thanks the staff at St. Luke's ICU for the excellent care given to Bob during his stay.
