My deepest sympathy to you for the loss of your Dad. He was a great proud man in the community. His love of the Veterans and Flag was amazing. He was always very supportive of me and my family. His dad Ed and my Grandpa Wendell Started Utica Oxygen Service together and were good friend. My Dad Jim and your Dad were good friends and my brother in Law Pat Cosgrove worked with your Dad at the NY Telephone Co. So our families were linked for a long time.
I enjoyed seeing your Dad several times a week outside the Kirkland PD or at Meelans Market where we shared a coffee and discussed world issues. He was very interesting to talk to. I enjoyed my time with him and his help with the "Run for the Fallen" soldiers event we worked every spring. He was there and helped every year.
He will be missed. I thank him for his friendship and support over the 40 years I was with Kirkland PD. I know he was very proud of both of your and I know you will miss him.
God bless him and may he Rest in Peace I will think of him when I look at the American Flag as he was a true keeper of the Flag.

It was an honor knowing Jim, every time I pulled into the fire house I always looked to see if Jim was around. He was always smiling, loved to hear his stories and listen to the advice he had to give. I’m going to miss you Mr. Spellman, I’ll cherish the memories and conversations we’ve had, it’s never goodbye, until we meet again sir rest easy

To Jims family with deepest sympathy
Jim was a classmate. We played sports together at high school in Westmoreland. I enjoyed his friendship throughout the years. Every time when I got back to Westmoreland we would go grab a cup of coffee and talk for hours. I was able to communicate with him on December 30th telling him we would have coffee together again this summer.
Will miss him and our talks over coffee

As a classmate and one of the cheerleaders who cheered Jim and the team on to many victories, I think he would like this photo as a great memory. Yes, he was a real gentleman.

Every time we saw Jim he always had a smile on his face. It was a pleasure to ride with him. Such a great guy. He used to come to Byrne dairy and hang out with everybody and always had a story. You will be missed Jim.
Reba God bless you your family and Jim's family. You are all in my prayers.

As a former classmate of Ames Spellman at Westmoreland H.S. I am expressing my condolences to Jim's family. We were on athletic teams together at WCS and Jim was a good teammate and friend. One of my memories occurred several years after graduation. I was living on Long Island at the time and Jim reached out and invited me to join other former football alumni to a reunion dinner at a restaurant in Rome, N.Y. Jim was a very thoughtful and considerate classmate and friend. I will always cherish my memories of Jim.
