Obituary of Paul B. Maxam

Paul B. Maxam, 76, a lifelong resident of Westmoreland, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, October 26, 2012. He was born October 22, 1936, in Utica, a son of the late, Charles W. and Anna Beach Maxam. Paul retired from the Town of Westmoreland Highway Department after 33 years of service. On May 4, 1990, he was married to Jean Grems. Paul loved to putter around the house, tend to his immaculate lawn, tinkering in the shed and fixing things. He is survived by his wife, Jean; his children and their spouses, Michael and Tricia Maxam of Yorkville, Vicki Maxam of Jacksonville, FL, Jodi Veal of Jacksonville, FL, George and Lori Lastinger of Charlottesville, VA, Rose Palma of Jacksonville, FL, Jerry and Trudy Piersall of Liverpool, Dave and Toni Piersall of Rome and Melissa Jones of Rome; 23 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret and Jack Murfit of New Hartford, Gretchen Maxam of Westmoreland and Jeannette and Larry DeLuca of Yorkville; a brother Richard and Nancy Maxam of Clinton; two sisters-in-law, Betty Maxam of Clinton and Marge and Bob Hesler of Rome; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his three brothers, Charles Bruce, Donald and Robert Maxam and two sisters, Helen Kenneally and Gail Dodds. Funeral services will be held at 6pm Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton. All are invited to call Sunday from 3-6pm prior to the funeral.
