Obituary of James Robert Jones

James R. “JR” Jones, 65, of Clark Mills, joined the Lord on June 30, 2020. He was born June 24, 1955, in Washington, DC, a son of the late Robert and Carol Jones. JR graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1973. He moved to Nashville, where he lived for many years. He spent most of his life as a Professional Musician, playing throughout the United States. He was a fill-in staff drummer at the Grand Ole Opry. JR was a talented drummer and song writer. In recent years, he worked at Big Apple Music, off and on for his dear friend Mark. In 2006, he was united in marriage to Nancy Rouillier. JR loved the drums and making music, sports, fires, sunsets, traveling, his friends, his family, and most of all Our Lord in Heaven. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Rouillier; in-laws, Denise Rouillier and Mike Kurdziolek and Dan and Renee Rouillier; niece Samantha and Hans Ernst; great niece and nephew Elias and Eloise Ernst; his two Goddaughters, Nicole and Taylor Murdock; and his two brothers, Jay and Jerry. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Jeff, whom he missed every day. All are invited to a graveside service at St. Mary’s Cemetery at 11am on Tuesday, July 7, 2020.
