Justin A. Benedict passed away unexpectedly on April 5, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Justin was born on February 10, 1987 and grew up in Deansboro. He graduated from Clinton Central School in 2005. There he played hockey and was so proud to be a member of the “Band of Brothers” that won the NY State Championship. After graduating from Clinton, he attended North Wood Prep School in 2005-2006 and then attended Becker College. He previously worked at Colgate College and was currently employed at Indium Corporation. Justin loved his cats. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and riding his motorcycle. Surviving are his father, Keith Benedict and fiance Polly Belfield of Deansboro; his sister Julie Benedict (Amos) and his nephew Carter of Hamilton; Polly’s kids, Luke Belfield of Utica, Lacey and Corey Broedel of Brookfield, Layne and Steve Potter of Oriskany Falls and Logan Belfield of TN; his grandmother, Joan Benedict of Deansboro; Justin’s mother, Kim Benedict of SC; and his half-brother, Josh Buschor. Justin also leaves behind his girlfriend, Sara Kessler; his uncle and aunt, Kevin and Gwen Benedict of Hamilton; and many relatives. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Allen Benedict, who Justin loved very much; his maternal grandparents, Karl and Gloria Buschor; his aunt and uncle Karen and Jim Neidhart; and his cousin James Neidhart. Justin is also predeceased by a great family friend, Uncle Aub – he spent a lot of his childhood at Aub’s camp on the pond. Private services will be held for the family.
