Obituary of Robert J. Lewis

Robert John "Louie" Lewis, Jr., 71, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital from a long illness. He worked for the town of Augusta for 24 years, from 1969 to 1993, when he retired. Robert previously was employed by Wilbert Vault and the Waterville Knitting Mill. He was a lifetime resident of Oriskany Falls as well as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Joan Lewis of Oriskany Falls; a son, Lorne Lewis and Michele Puglese of Oriskany Falls; a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Claude Horning of Oriskany Falls; four grandchildren, Lorne Jr., Fredrick, Claude III and Vicky Thomas; two brothers and their spouses, Floyd and Barb Lewis of Sherrill, Frank and Iva Lewis of Waterville; one sister, Martha Champion of Chittenango; sister-in-law, Gloria Lewis and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Henry Lewis. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 10am at the Augusta Presbyterian Church, Route 26, Oriskany Falls. Interment will be held at the Deansboro Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Friday from 4-7pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St, Clinton.
