Obituary of Norma S Adams

Norma S. Adams, 88, a longtime resident of Clark Mills, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Harding Nursing Home with her family by her side.
She was born in Churchville, NY on April 21, 1924, a daughter of the late Floyd and Susan Genevieve Lehman Stottle. On March 19, 1949 she was united in marriage to George F. Adams. Mr. Adams died August 23, 1976. The couple resided in Clark Mills for many years, where Norma was an active member of the Clark Mills Fire Dept. Auxiliary. She was also a substitute teacher at Clinton Central School for many years. Norma was the founder and Director of the Kirkland Senior Citizens and was instrumental in the building of the Senior Center. She also spent her time volunteering at Faxton Hospital and with the COPE group for widows at the YWCA.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judith and John Grabowski of North Carolina; her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Nadine Adams of Plymouth, NY; three grandchildren, Jessica, Rachael and Cole; three great-grandchildren, Adam, Anna and Rebekah; her sister F. Esther Harris of Spencerport, NY and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to call from 2-4 & 7-9pm on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St. Clinton. Funeral services will be held at 10am Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by burial in Kirkland Cemetery.
The family thanks the staff at Harding Nursing Home for their loving care and kindness to Norma and her family.
