Obituary of William J Humphrey Jr

William J. Humphrey Jr. Clinton William J. Humphrey Jr., 83, of Homewood Drive, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 1, 2012. He was born May 25, 1929, in Utica, the son of the late William J. and Clara Broedel Humphrey. Bill graduated from Utica Free Academy. On November 15, 1947 at Grace Church, he was united in marriage to Sally J. Doyle, a blessed union of love and friendship for 64 years. Bill was a co-owner, with the late Raymond Clark, of C&H Plastics in Waterville and truly enjoyed his work. Previously he worked for 20 years at General Electric. He is survived by his beloved wife Sally, of Clinton; his two daughters, Diane Humphrey of New Hartford and Linda Turk of New Hartford; his son, William Humphrey II and Shirley Roth of Sherburne; five grandchildren and their spouses, Amanda Jasiewicz, William Humphrey IV, Sara and Newton English, Andrew Turk and Robin Turk & Anthony DeRosa; two great-grandchildren, Dillon English and Bristol Jasiewicz; three sisters and their spouses, Clara Mae and Jack Durant of Deerfield, Geraldine Levy of Clark Mills and Ruth Jean and Gene Arcand of Remsen; and several nieces and nephews and their children. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Gary Turk and two nephews, Richard and Steven Metzler. A Memorial Service will be held at Noon on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton, NY. All are invited to call from 10am - Noon prior to the service. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to Clinton Fire Dept.
