Obituary of Carl W. Thieme

Carl W. Thieme, 86, of Vernon Center, died peacefully on July 7,2012 at his home, after a short illness surrounded by his family. He was born on February 21, 1926 in Utica, a son of Henry and Anna Soldato Thieme. Carl was a local farmer until he went to work for Surge, a local dairy equipment company. Upon retirement he worked part time driving school bus. Carl enjoyed traveling and passed on his love for hunting to his family. He is survived by six sons; Kerry and Michelle Thieme , Clinton, Hank Thieme and Delores, Randy and Angie Thieme, Jody and Colleen Thieme, Chris Thieme,all of Vernon Center, Tim Thieme and Kemal, Huntersville N.C.. His former wife Shirlee Thieme; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Carl was predeceased by his second wife Elizabeth "Betty" Williams and daughter Jacqueline; a sister Marjorie Stagner and a brother Robert Thieme. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hospice for their loving care. Funeral services will be held 10:A.M. Tuesday July 10, 2012 at Owens-Pavlot and Rogers Funeral Home 35 College Street Clinton. Calling hours are Monday 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Westmoreland. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Vernon Center Fire Department or Hospice Palliative Care 4277 Middle Settlement Rd, New Hartford N.Y. 13413.
