Cynthia R. Silfer, MD, 54, of Brimfield Street, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Faxton-St. Luke's Hospital.
Cindy was born in Wichita, Kansas on April 7, 1958, the daughter of Dr. Floyd and Margaret Hemphill Grillot. She received her Bachelor's Degree from University of Notre Dame and her Doctorate from University of Oklahoma School of Medicine. She married Jeffrey Silfer on May 16, 1987. After completing her anesthesia residency at Vermont Medical Center, they settled in Clinton, where she became a partner with Sunset Anesthesia Associates. Cindy was a devoted wife and mother, an amazing sister, and a caring physician. She was a truly positive influence on all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff; her two cherished sons, Matthew and Daniel; her parents, Dr. Floyd and Margaret Grillot of Palm Harbor, Florida; her four brothers, Dr. Stephen Grillot of Wichita, Kansas, Rick (Leanne) Grillot of Tallahassee, Florida, Marc (Lisa) Grillot of St. Louis, Missouri and Dr. Michael (Sherrie) Grillot of Springfield, Missouri; and many special friends, nieces, nephews, cousins.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. A public memorial service will be held at a later date. Please consider donations to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing Center, PO Box 7, E. Syracuse, NY 13057-0007.
