Obituary of Marian Garner

Marian H Garner, 89, of Clinton, NY died Monday, July 2, 2012 at Faxton-St Luke's Hospital. Marian was born in Conesville, NY on October 8, 1922, the daughter of Avery and Estella Richtmyer Hinman. She was a graduate of Gilboa High School and Oneonta State Teacher's College. Marian retired from Clinton Central School District in 1979. She taught second grade at Clark Mills Elementary School and Marvin Street School and began her teaching career in Middleburg, NY in 1945. Marian was an avid golfer and bowler. She was married to Edward Garner, a blessed union of 65 years. Ed and Marian have lived in Del Ray Beach, Florida and spent the summers in Upstate New York for the past 27 years. She is survived by her husband, Edward; a son, two daughters and their spouses, Allan E. Garner of Raleigh, NC, Marlene and Ross Williamson of Ocean City, NJ and Elaine and George Joseph of Westmoreland; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister Mildred Beaudette of Latham, NY; her brother and sister-in-law Robert and Alice Hinman of Gilboa, NY; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Olin Hinman. Friends and family are invited to call from 5-7pm today, Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St. Clinton, followed by a family service.
