Obituary of Lois J Diehl

Lois J. Diehl, 84, a longtime resident of Oriskany Falls, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012 at the Presbyterian Home where she had resided the past few years. She was born in Oriskany Falls on July 8, 1927, a daughter of Leo and Mary Abbey Jordan and graduated from Madison Central School. On February 14, 1949 she was united in marriage to Roger Diehl until his death on November 23, 1989. Lois was a dedicated homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved tending to her grounds, which were kept meticulously and adored her Collie dogs. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling. She had attended St. Joseph's Church in Oriskany Falls. She is survived by her four sons and their spouses, Mark Diehl of Washington, DC, Scott and Angela Diehl of Bedford, NH, Philip Diehl of Oriskany Falls and Jack and Gloria Diehl of Tucson, AZ; three beloved grandchildren, Dr. Kirsti Diehl of Brooklyn, Rosalyn Diehl of Bedford, NH and John Diehl of Oriskany Falls; many cherished nieces and nephews and her former daughter-in-law, Pilar Lombana of New York Mills. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger, her sister Esther Anderson and brother John Jordan. All are invited to attend graveside services at 10am Monday, June 25, 2012 at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Oriskany Falls. There will be no public calling hours.
