I met Larry when I was 18 years old. I was working at a barber shop when he came in with his grandson Bryan.. I cut their hair and we started talking, he left happy with what I wouldn’t call my best work fresh out of barber-school still with a lot to learn about the trade. Next time he came in and they both waited for me, we started right back where we left off and without even noticing years went by. I didn’t just become his barber, I was his friend. We learned over the years my godfather actually taught him in the police academy and they worked together at UPD for a while. He never judged or treated me like the punk 18 yr old kid I was, he treated me like a man. He gave me advice and watched me grow from that immature kid into a immature man but now who has a family and responsibilities. He gave me great advice over the years and always would help if I ever needed it. He was truly one of a kind an old school tough son of a gun who had his friends and family back. When he told me he was sick he was more worried about not being able to come get haircuts as often more then he was worried about his own health. Last time we spoke a couple weeks ago all he could talk about was how much easier his treatments were then everyone told him they would be but he mostly talked about Bryan. He always down talked any troubles he had and talked about the good. I’m gonna miss you big guy thank you for being such a good role model and giving me the opportunity to be your friend
