Obituary of Olive T Davies

Olive "Ollie" T. Davies, 83, of Clinton, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Hudson, NY on September 6, 1928, the daughter of the late Ralph Elmer and Gertrude Oakley Teator. Ollie graduated from New Hartford Central School and worked at Reid & Sheldon, General Electric and Utica Mutual for many years. On May 11, 1952, she married Ralph H. Davies in Norwich. Ollie stopped working outside of the house and devoted her life to raising her family. They lived in Lee Center for many years before moving to Clinton in 1977. Mr. Davies died in 1996. She was a member of the Clinton VFW Auxiliary and the New Hartford American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed her Saturdays out with her daughters and grandson, watching the birds and the "girls corner" at the VFW. She was of the Methodist faith. She is survived by her three children, Sandra Robinson and Merle Foster of Clark Mills, Craig Davies of Clinton and Kimberly and William Fernalld of Westmoreland, her special grandson Jordan Davies Robinson, special sisters-in-law, Verna Teator and Elizabeth Stacey, several nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends including Bea Brady. She was predeceased by her husband, her brother Ralph Teator and her canine companion, Mugzy. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Friday, February 3, 2012 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. All are invited to call Thursday from 4-7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Rome Humane Society or the American Cancer Society. The family thanks the staff at St. Elizabeth for their special care and compassion.
