Obituary of Audrey Kaiser
Please share a memory of Audrey to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
I was born October 30, 1930, in the small town of Rutherford, NJ. I had the best Mom and Dad and two great sisters. As a Girl Scout I earned the highest honor of the Curved Bar Award. Fred and I met on a blind date and were married in 1951.
When we came to Clinton to live in 1957 it was small village USA. I was so happy to be at the beginning of the Kirkland Art Center when it started over the Library - I served on the council and as President and taught children's classes. Thru Al DeHond, then principal of the elementary school, I did a mural in the Reading Room at Marvin St. School and substituted in art class at Clinton and New Hartford Schools. I was a member of Stone Presbyterian Church and active in Wylie Club. I was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the United Federation Doll Club and published paper doll art work in hobby publications. I also had a solo quilt show in the Kirkland Town Library and New Hartford Library. I was a Brownie leader for many years and designed and worked on the Historical Clinton Quilt. My family thought I was a fantastic cook.
I leave Fred and our daughters, Kady Kaiser of New Hartford and Debra Kaiser and her husband Craig Dicken of Shelburne, VT; three grandchildren, Alex Baisley and Justin and Kate Dicken and two great-grandchildren, Shayne Baisley and Hailey Demers. I was proud of you all! I was predeceased by my sisters, Muriel Romm and June Pipeling.
Do not feel bad, I've had the best life. Please do not send flowers, give some to a friend or neighbor and bring sunshine to someone in my memory or consider a donation to Hope House or the Alzheimer's Association.
All are invited to call Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 4-7pm. at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton. A public memorial service will be held in the spring and a private burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
