Obituary of Betty McCarthy

Betty McCarthy passed away on January 7, 2019 in the comfort of the Abraham House with her family by her side.

Betty was born in the Town of Westmoreland on September 15, 1929 to Edward and Bessie Cotter Stockbridge.  She was one of fourteen children.  In 1948 she was married to R. Edward McCarthy and they had three children; Bonnie, James and Kathleen.  Betty worked at the Lutheran Home in Clinton, NY for 31 years.

She is survived by her children, Bonnie, James and Kathleen; four grandchildren, Karen, Kathie, Jamee and James; eight great-grandchildren, Emily, Cody, Christopher, Rachael, Kevin, Erik, Meagan and Connor; a great-great grandson, Owen; and a special sister-in-law and friend Donna.  She was predeceased by her husband and her granddaughter, Kimberly Fedor.

There will be no calling hours, which is Betty’s wish.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., Clinton.
