Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

William Frances Buck Sr, 88, of Clinton (formerly Deansboro) passed away on January 3, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Utica, NY with family by his side.  He was born in Utica on November 26, 1930 to Benjamin and Frances (Mottot) Buck, one of thirteen children.

He was raised in Catholic orphanages in Utica, Syracuse and Albany. He was employed by Durr Packing Company, Chicago Markets and Great American as a Meat Cutter until he retired in 1989.  But that was just a small part of him. He was a man of many talents and with a heart of gold. He was an artist, a circus performer, a carpenter, a mechanic or anything else he decided he wanted to do. He built himself a long arm sewing machining and quilt rack and would quilt for all his ladies.  Bill would do anything for anybody, it didn’t matter when it was, if he really had the time or was in pain.  He could figure out how to build or repair anything.  In his grandchildren’s words “ Papa can fix anything”, and this was so true.  In his retirement he helped Jane babysit for his two youngest grandchildren, Tina and Jordan. They developed a very special bond.

Bill married Audrey Jean Robinson in Utica in 1951, they were married until her passing in 1955.  On March 17, 1956 he was married to Jane Elizabeth Harmon.  They were together for 62 years until Buck’s passing.

He is survived by his wife, Jane. Children: Audrey Jean (Howard) Simmons of Beaufort, NC, Michael (Wendy) of Fletcher, NC and Elizabeth Blair of Waterville. A daughter in law, Ana Buck of Maryland. Grandchildren: Jennifer, Christopher, Sheena, Christopher Jr, Danielle, Katelyn, Tina and Jordan, Nathaly and Manuel. 12 great grandchildren. Many dear in-laws, friends and nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his sons, William Jr. and Christopher, Infant daughter Tina, his parents, brothers and sisters, a son in law, Martin.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
